Using a stereo microscope I employ a hypodermic needle held in a pin-vice to carefully remove hard clay and mineral deposits on ancient coins, without damaging the delicate fine patina that protects the coins. This coin is a Roman AE4 size bronze coin – dating between 336-342 AD. This video shows just about 1/2 of the reverse side being cleaned.
